Who said watching movies is a waste of time? For one lucky American this holiday season, watching Christmas films might come with a big payday.
CableTV.com, an online platform that provides cable information, said it is searching for one lucky person to be this year's Chief of Cheer. As part of the job's responsibilities, the chief must watch 25 holiday movies in 25 days.
“Every year, we search high and low to find the individual with the most winter holiday cheer—the Chief of Cheer, if you will,” the website said.
For the trouble of watching so many movies, the job pays $2,500. The Chief of Cheer will also receive a signing bonus in the form of free subscriptions to DIRECTV, Hulu, Disney+, and Hallmark+. Don't fret, a blanket will be provided to make the viewing experience even more comfy, according to CableTV.com.
Apart from the pay, CableTV.com said that it will also donate $2,500 to the Chief of Cheer’s charity of choice.
“You don’t have to pick out your movies or charity ahead of time; that can all come after you win,” according to the platform.
How can I apply?
Applications for this year’s Chief of Cheer opened on Nov. 3 and will remain open until Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m. MT.
Applications can be sent here.
