Two years after finishing her prison sentence for her role in the NXIVM cult, Allison Mack recalled how her Smallville co-star Kristin Kreuk introduced her to the group.

Although they had “so much fun” traveling the world and living “this kind of dream” at the height of their fame on the WB/CW show, Mack noted that she and Kreuk still felt “unsatisfied” in their lives before the latter recommended what was then advertised as a self-help group.

“I was like, ‘I feel this odd emptiness, and it feels so wrong given the nature of my life.’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, me too,'” recalled Mack on the first episode of CBC ‘s Allison After NXIVM podcast.
