EUGENE, Ore-- Two local schools in Western Oregon have punched their tickets to the OSAA Girls Soccer State Championships this weekend.
Down Beltline at North Eugene High School, the No.1 Highlanders secured their spot in the OSAA 5A State Title Game thanks to a 1-0 shutout over No.4 Summit. This is the third time in program history that North Eugene girls soccer has made the championship game since the OSAA was created.
Sophomore Camden Dewitt would score the lone North Eugene goal late in the first half after the team was struggling offensively to put any shots on goal. From 20 yards out, Dewitt would send the ball skyrocketing into the back right of the net, barely missing the top of the post.
