MANCHESTER, N.H. —
A bill to reopen the federal government is expected to pass Wednesday, but the politics will continue to play out for weeks.
The deal reached by a small group of Democratic senators, including New Hampshire U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, includes a promise to vote on Affordable Care Act tax credits by mid-December.
A lot of Democrats are upset with Shaheen and Hassan over cutting a deal when Democrats appeared to have momentum from the recent elections, along with polling that showed that Republicans were taking more blame for the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.
