CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - An auto company is investing $207 million in a major relocation to Charlotte, bringing thousands of jobs to the area.

Scout Motors, an emerging automotive manufacturer, will establish its new headquarters at Plaza Midwood Commonwealth near East Independence Boulevard.

The facility will serve as the company’s central hub for leadership and innovation and is expected to employ 1,200 workers by 2030, with an average salary of $172,878.

“This project marks a major job creation milestone for our city and will act as a catalyst for continued revitalization in an area already seeing new life through infrastructure and development,” said Mayor Vi Lyles.
