The Brief
A recall was issued for 64,000 alpaca toys because these items pose a choking hazard for children.
The Inkari Plush Alpaca Toys are for kids under three years old, but the eyes can detach, which the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a Nov. 6 recall letter that the toy violates a small parts ban, which could cause the choking risk.
No injuries have been reported from use of the toys and the CPSC says these items were sold at specialty stores in the U.S. and on Amazon.com, Etsy.com and Inkari-alpaca.com from November 2020 and July 2025 with prices ranging from $25 to $100.
