BILLINGS, Mont. – After a final count of all ballots, Billings has elected Mike Nelson as its new mayor. Runner-up Jennifer Owen conceded the race and congratulated Nelson in a Facebook post.
Our Justin Dubail caught up with Nelson to learn more about his plans as mayor. Nelson has been a leader at the Northern for several years and is now set to lead Billings for the next four years.
"When the results came out, it was it was excitement. I was up and Adam at 6:30 this morning just getting ready to think about the future and getting to work in January when we get to take over," said Nelson.
Nelson shared his feelings about becoming mayor of the town where he was born and raised.
