STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A new era of an American political dynasty is in its early stages as John F. Kennedy’s grandson announces his candidacy for a New York City congressional seat.

Jack Schlossberg, 32, posted to social media Tuesday declaring his intention to claim Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler’s seat in the 12 th District.

Nadler, 78, said in September that he would not seek reelection during the 2026 midterms, leaving space for Schlossberg — a writer for Vogue and a social media sensation — to step into the storied position.

Schlossberg took aim at issues like corruption, affordability, and healthcare in his candidacy announcement video, pointing a finger at President Donald Trump for the “crisis” America is in today.
