The early signing period for college baseball began on Wednesday, and Butch Thompson’s Auburn Tigers notched the No. 7 class in the country, according to Perfect Game recruiting rankings.

It marks the third consecutive top-10 class for Thompson and his seventh top-15 class since arriving on the Plains in 2015. The class was also rated No. 11 by Baseball America.

Seven top-200 players highlight the group, according to Perfect Game, and feature a mix of players from all over the country, led by the No. 18 player in the class, Coleman Borthwick.

Borthwick is a two-way player who brings a big bat to the lineup and can slot in at either corner position in the infield, while sitting in the mid-90s off the mound from the right side.
