A 40-year-old man was hospitalized Nov. 12 after he was injured in a police shooting near Madison Street and 2nd Avenue.

According to the Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner, officers responded to reports of a man armed with a shotgun around 12:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Railroad Boulevard in Eugene. Skinner said seven or eight people called 911, and reported the man was "wielding the shotgun, walking in and out of traffic (and) pointing the shotgun at individuals," which is considered the crime of menacing.
