ONEIDA, Wis. (WBAY) - November is Native American Heritage Month, and here in Wisconsin, the Oneida Nation’s journey is one of resilience, culture, and community.
One milestone along that journey came with the start of bingo games, a move that helped fund key tribal programs and laid the groundwork for future growth.
“Bingo is kind of our heart and soul of where gaming grew for Oneida,” says Louise Cornelius, the general manager of the Oneida Casino.
Louise Cornelius has worked closely with Oneida Casino for over 30 years and says the tribe and casino have advanced greatly over the years.
Originally from New York, the Oneida Nation tribe came to Wisconsin in the 1820s to establish new homelands.
