The US House of Representatives has voted to reopen the federal government after the longest shutdown in history.
House lawmakers made a long-awaited return to the nation's capital on Wednesday, local time, after nearly eight weeks away.
They voted in support of a stopgap funding package to restart disrupted food assistance, pay hundreds of thousands of federal workers and revive a hobbled air traffic control system.
The measure, which has already been passed by the Senate , will now be sent on to President Donald Trump.
The White House says Mr Trump will sign the bill into law later on Wednesday night. Loading
