DALLAS COUNTY, Iowa —

One person is dead after a crash between two vehicles at a Highway 44 intersection in Dallas County.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called at around 8:34 a.m. Wednesday to the intersection of Highway 44 and J Avenue for a two-vehicle crash. First responders found a passenger vehicle had collided with a semi-truck hauling a grain trailer.

One person involved in the crash died from their injuries. Authorities have not publicly identified the person who died.

The intersection reopened to drivers at around 12:30 p.m.
