The Vancouver Canucks are getting one more player back from injury.

Forward Jonathan Lekkerimäki has been activated from injured reserve and assigned to AHL Abbotsford, the team announced Wednesday.

The second-year winger was injured on Oct. 20 after suffering an injury against the Washington Capitals when he was on the receiving end of a hard hit into the boards.

Lekkerimäki, 21, has one goal in four games after breaking training camp with the team. The 2022 first-round pick made his NHL debut last season, recording six points (three goals, three assists) in 24 contests.

The exact nature of his injury was unclear.

He joins a decimated Abbotsford team that has seen many of its top players called up to the big club amid Vancouver’s injury crisis. They have lost their past 11 games.
