GAC is the next Chinese brand to tackle the Australian market, and it has released full specifications for one of its first local cars: the Nissan Qashqai -sized Emzoom .
Launching this month in a single 'GL' trim level, the Emzoom is set to go up against Australia's vast small SUV cohort, including the Mazda CX-30 , Hyundai Kona , and MG ZS , to name just a few.
Further, though GAC bills it as a "compact SUV", the Emzoom measures in at just over 4.4 metres, which means it's closest in size to larger small SUVs like the Qashqai. Unlike that and many other small SUVs though, it's arriving without any kind of hybrid powertrain, and its petrol engine is only compliant with Euro 5 emissions standards.
That means it's slipping in before tougher Euro 6d standards come into effect
