NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) paid out partial SNAP benefits Wednesday, but some recipients say it wasn’t as much as they were expecting.

The state started distributing partial funding for SNAP during the government shutdown after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to use emergency funds to cover the program. The TDHS said Wednesday they’d start issuing 65 percent of SNAP benefits for November.

The payments were loaded onto recipients’ EBT cards, but some recipients like Katherine White reported seeing only a fraction of their usual payment on their accounts.
