PITTSBURGH —
Paul Skenes won the Cy Young Award for the best pitcher in the National League on Wednesday night, following a dominant 2025 season for the 23-year-old Pirates ace.
Skenes was voted the winner over the two other finalists, Phillies lefty Cristopher Sanchez and Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Advertisement

Skenes led the major leagues in ERA (1.97) as he went 10-10 with 216 strikeouts and 0.95 WHIP in 32 starts during the 2025 season. He allowed just 41 earned runs and 42 walks over 187.2 innings.
