COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio families began seeing their federal food assistance cards reload on Wednesday.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said it has processed $66.8 million in November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program payments for about 364,000 households—more than half of those who typically receive aid each month.
Nearly all recipients will get less than 65% of their usual amount, the agency said. But some families, especially those whose earnings hover near the eligibility cutoff, may receive nothing this week because of the new formula.
All eligible households should see their partial benefits within the next few days, even if their usual payment date is later in the month.
