STATEWIDE -- While Maine's 2026 election campaigns continue, one candidate is going in a new direction.

Jordan Wood took to Facebook on Wednesday morning to announce that he's no longer seeking a term in the senate. Instead, he hopes to represent his hometown as a representative for Maine's second congressional district.

"There's too much at stake to not have a campaign in the second congressional district against Paul LePage, who I think is everything wrong with our politics right now and would not be the voice we need in Congress," said Wood.

Wood says that his campaign priorities of accessible childcare, affordable housing, and universal healthcare still stand.
