The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday night voted 222-209 to end a historically long government shutdown. It has already passed the Senate, and President Donald Trump signed the bill later Wednesday night.
Here’s how legislators representing our area voted:
Rep. Rob Wittman , a Republican who represents the 1st Congressional District, said he voted in support of the measure .
“Today, I voted in support of a measure to reopen the government and reinstate stability for Virginians. The American people deserve a government that works for them and does not come to a complete halt in pursuit of political games,” Wittman said.
