FOREST ACRES, S.C. — Forest Acres leaders are moving forward with plans to modernize the city’s zoning and development rules for the first time in more than three decades.
Councilmembers held their first reading and second public hearing Wednesday night on a proposed Unified Development Ordinance, a single document that combines zoning and development standards.
“So this is basically, we've combined our zoning ordinance and our development ordinance into one unified document,” said Councilmember Ryan Newton.
Newton says the new ordinance is designed to make the city’s growth more consistent while maintaining the character of existing neighborhoods.
