SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Construction is underway on the new 14-story California Tower at UC Davis Medical Center, and while the cranes and crew members are easy to spot, those paying close attention might also notice something special at the site.
Crews have placed two 6-foot-tall Waldo figurines inside the frame for the young patients at nearby hospitals to spot as the tower takes shape.
“This was just something that we wanted to do for the children and the patients that come into the hospitals every single day,” said Anmol Gill, safety manager at McCarthy Construction.
Crews move character – in his signature stripes and glasses -- to different areas of the building, Gill said, every few days or so. She said the construction workers on the project have also come to enjoy the small gestur
