A person was shot in the leg on Wednesday morning near Sweet Home, according to a social media post from the Pulaski County sheriff's office.

Around 10:11 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a shooting on the 500 block of Russenberger Road, about 4 miles south of the Interstate 530 interchange with Interstate 30. When deputies arrived, they found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, the post says.

The victim was taken to a hospital, the post says.

The sheriff's office was not releasing the victim's name Wednesday evening, spokesperson Kristin Knox said, adding that she did not know the severity of the victim's injuries. No suspects had been identified as of Wednesday night, she said.
