LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Lawmakers previewing next year’s legislative session said housing, taxes and Medicaid will dominate the agenda.
State Sen. Julie Raque Adams, R-Louisville, pushed back against warnings about proposed Medicaid changes: "It's kind of a scare tactic right now that we're going to take 200,000 people off, and then we're going to close 33 rural hospitals."
Sen. Cassie Chambers Armstrong, D-Louisville, said she has already seen local impacts.
"We have already seen a hospital in our community that was planning to add a birthing center, cancel those plans because of changes to the Medicaid program," she said.
