Romance scammers have allegedly been using the photos and likeness of a California fitness trainer to make convincing catfish profiles to cajole unsuspecting single women across the world into forking over their finances.
Scott Cole is a 63-year-old tai chi and fitness trainer from Palm Springs — but his face has been used for the fake accounts of Kevin Ottomar, a project foreman from Florida; Caleb Davis, a North Carolina college student; and Wilson Davis, a marine engineer in Ireland, ABC 7 reported Wednesday.
“My career’s been all about helping people, wellness, stretching, helping seniors get out of the chair, helping kids work out,” Cole told the outlet.
“Here, my likeness was being used to do something really awful.”
Scott Cole, 63, said that he’s at the center of a 15-year cat
