SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A move to crack down on negligent landlords in the Capitol City.
Springfield City Council voted Wednesday night to consider creating a landlord licensing program.
The initiative would also establish a residential rental inspection program.
Advocates said that bad apples are letting homes fall into disrepair across the area, and have left tenants in unsafe buildings, creating a safety risk for everyone.
