DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) - The Dubuque Community School District warned parents about the dangers of social media and artificial intelligence during a meeting Tuesday night.
The warning comes after three students in the neighboring Western Dubuque school district were charged with creating or distributing AI-generated nude photos of several classmates.
Dubuque police showed parents how online problems can start through games like Fortnite and Roblox, where children can chat with people from around the world.
“They’ll start the conversation on those games, then they will move that conversation on to another platform,” said Corporal Clark Egdorf of the Dubuque Police Department.
