A 66-year-old Michigan City man has been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a child known to him. According to the Michigan City Police Department, officers began investigating on November 3 after receiving a complaint that an adult male had engaged in sexual encounters with a child. Detective Corporal Adam Brinkman worked alongside the Indiana Department of Child Services and determined that Billy Cannon had allegedly been involved in several incidents of sexual misconduct with the victim. Detectives executed a search warrant at Cannon’s home on November 7, where he was taken into custody. Police say evidence collected at the scene supported the victim’s statements.
