Srinagar recorded its coldest night of the season as the temperature plummeted to minus 2.1 degrees Celsius, continuing the mercury’s steady fall across the Kashmir Valley.

The Pahalgam hill station recorded a low of minus 3.8 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg registered a minimum temperature of 0.5 degrees.

Officials from the Meteorological (MeT) Department said that the minimum temperature is likely to drop further in the coming days across the Valley.

“As expected, the minimum temperature dropped to minus 2.1 degrees Celsius in Srinagar today, which is the lowest this season so far. The night temperature is likely to dip further in the next few days,” MeT officials said.
