The Liberals have sided with the Nationals and ditched the commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 after two days of party room meetings and months of division.

* Opposition Leader Sussan Ley on Thursday announced the party would ensure Australia remains in the global climate treaty the Paris Agreement if it returns to government, but would drop support of net zero

* Ms Ley said the party would drop the 62 to 70 per cent emissions
