New Delhi: OpenAI is trying to fix things that annoyed users earlier this year. GPT-5.1 is now rolling out, starting with paid users. The update focuses a lot on tone, speed and instruction following. We tried switching between older models and the new ones inside ChatGPT, and the difference felt more conversational. Nothing dramatic, but noticeable in small ways.

OpenAI says the goal is to make ChatGPT feel smarter and easier to talk to. It reminded me of moments when I asked the model a very simple question and it gave a long lecture. Those days might get fewer now, or at least that is what the company claims.
