A police raid in central Victoria has led to the discovery of a rare collectible convertible, along with other stolen items. The red Shelby Cobra Roadster, valued at $120,000, was reported stolen from a rural property in Pentland Hills, near Bacchus Marsh, on Wednesday. Later that day, authorities found the vehicle during a raid at a property in Campbelltown, located about 40 minutes north of Ballarat.
In addition to the Shelby Cobra, police uncovered 11 other vehicles believed to be stolen. The search also revealed a boat, a motorbike, and a bobcat. Officers seized a loaded sawn-off shotgun, a suspected 3D-printed handgun, and a silencer. Authorities also found quantities of substances believed to be methylamphetamine and GHB.
A 55-year-old man from Campbelltown was arrested during the operation. He faces charges of drug possession and 14 counts of motor vehicle theft. The man is scheduled to appear in court later this week. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the full extent of the thefts and the origin of the seized items.
