Dr Umar Un Nabi, the suicide bomber who executed the blast in the white Hyundai i20 car outside Red Fort on Monday evening, had been communicating with someone based in Turkey, codenamed Ukasa. Dr Umar had also visited Ankara and stayed there for two weeks, according to the initial investigation.

The handler was the primary link between the Faridabad-based module and the handlers of the Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), according to the Times of India.

Officers had earlier confirmed that Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, one of the doctors arrested, had accompanied Dr Umar Un Nabi to Turkey in 2022. The duo didn’t attend the medical conference, but rather to meet the JeM handlers. The investigators have received data that confirms this from Dr Muzammil’s phone.
