Trump Administration Weighs Massive 107% Duty on Italian Pasta Brands

Imported Italian pasta could soon become a luxury item for American shoppers as the Trump administration moves to impose a sweeping 92% antidumping tariff on some of Italy’s biggest pasta exporters, first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The proposal , announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce in September, follows a federal investigation that concluded 13 Italian pasta makers sold their products below fair market value in the United States. Combined with the existing 15% tariff on European Union imports, the total duties on Italian-made pasta could climb to 107% , one of the steepest product-specific tariffs ever considered by a U.S. administration.
