Veerur Police have arrested a man accused of breaking into a house in Kuththuru and stealing gold ornaments worth several lakhs of rupees. The arrested accused has been identified as Itthe Barpe Abubakkar (71).
Between October 2 and October 6, gold jewellery worth around ₹9.5 lakh was stolen from the house of Avinash, a teacher residing at Manjushree Nagar in Kuththuru, Naravi village, while the family was away. A case was registered at the Venur Police Station.
During an investigation, police apprehended the accused. On the night of November 11, Sub-Inspector Oman and his team from Venur Police Station were conducting vehicle checks near Kumbhashree, Venur, when they stopped a suspicious scooter rider, identified as Abubakkar.
