Odisha will conduct a statewide survey to identify children with disabilities from birth to six years.
The Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has issued guidelines for the exercise.
Anganwadi workers will visit households to collect information. The government has announced an incentive of Rs 500 for each worker to support the survey effort. Officials confirmed that the survey will conclude within the next month.
Authorities emphasised that the survey aims to ensure early identification of children with disabilities. Once identified, these children will be included in various state government schemes designed for their welfare and empowerment.
