Alviti to face tough questions on Washington Bridge closure Nov. 13

Nearly two years after the abrupt emergency closure of the westbound span of the Washington Bridge, Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti will go under oath to answer questions about what his department and officials knew about the bridge's condition leading up to its closure.

Alviti is the only witness invited to testify before a joint meeting of the House and Senate oversight committees that will begin at 2 p.m. on Nov. 13.
