People on one benefit have been warned the Labour Party government is placing it "under review". The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) issued a response after Labour Party MP Dan Carden posed a written Parliamentary question.

Carden asked if the Secretary for Work and Pensions plans to "review" or "amend" the Carer's Allowance. Mr Carden, the MP for Liverpool Walton, wrote: "To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, whether he plans to (a) review and(b) amend carer's allowance."

In response, Labour MP Sir Stephen Timms stated that all aspects of the Carer's Allowance are kept "under review" to ensure it meets its objectives. Mr Timms said: "The Government keeps all aspects of Carer's Allowance (CA) under review to see if it is meeting its objectives."
