A police officer has issued important advice for UK driving licence holders, highlighting a requirement many motorists may be unaware of. Sergeant Owen Messenger, who serves with Devon and Cornwall Police's Road Casualty Reduction team, frequently shares vital advice through content creator George's @GeorgesCarMedia account.
In a recent TikTok video, Sergeant Messenger warned: "Urgent warning to everyone with a driving licence . If you are a driver in the UK, you need to know this. If you're a glasses wearer, if you wear contact lenses or any sort of corrective vision, or if you don't, you still need to be able to read a number plate from 20 metres."
The sergeant suggested drivers test themselves, either by measuring out the distance with a tape measure
