BOARDMAN Thousands of drivers who travel a half-mile-long stretch of a Boardman road daily will be taking a detour today.
According to the Mahoning County Engineer, Shields Road will be closed between Glenwood Avenue and Market Street on Thursday, Nov. 13, starting at 8 a.m.
The one-day closure, which affects a stretch of road that, according to ODOT, is used by more than 10,500 cars and trucks daily, is necessary for tree removal.
Drivers will be directed onto Glenwood Avenue to Route 224 to Market Street.
