New Delhi, Nov 12: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the launch of the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE), aimed at providing 100 per cent credit guarantee coverage to lending institutions for extending additional credit facilities of up to Rs 20,000 crore to eligible exporters, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The initiative, to be implemented by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Finance Ministry through the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC) Ltd, seeks to enhance liquidity and enable collateral-free credit for exporters.
