SCRANTON, Pa. — The St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry in Scranton helped around 900 families last month and is on track to increase that in November.
Employees say supply is not meeting demand and they are in need of donations. The food pantry is in need of non perishable items that are not expired.
Meanwhile the kitchen at St. Francis of Assisi served nearly 10,000 meals last month. Head Chef Selena Gonzalez and her team of volunteers will prepare at least 15 turkeys and all the trimmings for Thanksgiving.
Both the kitchen and food pantry are looking for donations and volunteers. You can contact St. Francis of Assisi in Lackawanna County at 570-342-5556.
