Though it became quickly apparent that the Kingsford Flivvers could compete with and even defeat MHSAA Division 2 Regional 9 opponent Ogemaw Heights Tuesday night, it also became clear as the match proceeded that the Flivvers were not functioning offensively as they have throughout most of the 2025 season.
And in the end the offensive difficulties caught up as the Falcons nipped Kingsford 25-27, 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 15-7 at Newberry High School.
With the victory, Ogemaw Heights (29-6-2) advances to the regional final against Essexville-Garber (42-13-3), while the Flivvers finish with a 22-3 mark.
“Unfortunately, tonight was not our night,” KHS coach Jaclynn Kreider said. “I proud of the way they kept battling and didn’t give up; we just could not get our offense going.”
