The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi held its 13th Convocation ceremony at its North Campus in the scenic Kamand Valley. A total of 604 students received their degrees, including 71 PhD scholars, 245 postgraduates, and 288 BTech graduates. Of these, 26% were women, reflecting the institute’s growing focus on inclusivity and equal opportunities.
The convocation was attended by several eminent guests. Prof Shekhar C. Mande, Former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), was the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address. He urged students to use science and technology responsibly for the betterment of society, saying, “Science without humanity isn’t useful."
