The Blantyre Magistrate’s Court has reserved its ruling on the bail application for former Deputy Inspector General of Police Ackis Muwanga and former crime superintendent Laudon Nthinda to November 18.
Muwanga and Nthinda are facing three charges, attempted extortion by threat, abuse of public office, and money laundering.
The two are accused of obtaining about K1.3 billion from three Malawians of Asian origin in June this year.
Both former police officers have denied the charges.
