Eddies Famous Cheesesteaks and Grille has something to celebrate: the fifth anniversary of its downtown Akron eatery on Main Street.

As a thank you to Eddies customers, owner Ed Sutter is featuring customer appreciation giveaways Nov. 14, including free steak-cut fries from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the purchase of a cheesesteak.

Free dessert and $2 Norka beverages also will be offered all day. The birthday celebration also will include Eddies gear giveaways.

History of Eddies

Sutter opened his restaurant at 147 S. Main St. in 2020. Friday's celebration also marks more than 30 years of the Eddies brand.

Sutter started the brand in 1993 with Eddies Pizzeria in Goodyear Heights, followed by a second location in Ellet. He pivoted to catering in 1999, starting with Eddies Catering, which was
