Congress re-opened the government in the late hours of Nov. 12, but the damage done to the nation’s travel system in the last 43 days won’t fix itself overnight.
President Donald Trump signed a government funding bill Wednesday night, just hours after the House passed the measure on a mostly party-line vote of 222-209.
Since Nov. 7, the Federal Aviation Administration cut up to 6 percent of flights at 40 of the nation’s biggest airports, including New York, Charlotte and Atlanta — major connecting hubs for S.C. travelers. That’s amounted to more than 7,900 flights canceled so far, including 2,300 on Nov. 10 and another 1,100 the next day, according to reports by The Guardian .
Flight reductions will remain at 6 percent instead of rising to 10 percent by the end of the week as schedule
