In financial capital Mumbai, it seems even footpaths are for 'sale' and a pani puri seller has landed in hot water after seemingly being duped by a Shiv Sena leader. The bizarre incident happened in Mulund around two years ago.
A pani puri seller has accused a Mulund-based Shiv Sena leader of fraudulently selling a chunk of footpath to him for Rs 3 lakh even though he had previously illegally rented the space to a dosa seller. The Sena leader apparently charges Rs 17,000 per month from the dosa seller.

The pani puri seller, Santosh Bachchulal Gupta, accused Avinash Bagul, a leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Sena faction, of executing the bogus sale agreement. Gupta alleged that in 2023, Bagul "sold" him the chunk of public footpath for which he paid Rs 50,000 in
