DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Friday-Eve! A warming trend begins today with little rain in sight for this weekend.

High pressure is in control all along the Mississippi River Valley, giving us quiet and sunny conditions for today. After a cloudy start early this morning, clouds will quickly clear out giving way to mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Temperatures top off in the low 60s.

Tonight will be in the low 40s as clouds gradually return overnight. Overall dry conditions will persist into the weekend. A few disturbances may bring a stray sprinkle early Friday or spotty shower late Saturday, however; dry air dominates as we head through this weekend. Better chances for widespread rain returns next week and continues into the midweek.
