South Africa captain Temba Bavuma has placed a Test series win in India just under the World Test Championship (WTC) in terms of importance. He said his team understood the ‘magnitude of the challenge’ and had been through the ‘moments of hurt’ in prior tours of India, which makes them even more ambitious.
South Africa has a better record against India than most countries. However, they last won a series here in 2001-02. Out of the next four tours, two ended in Indian wins and the other in draws.
